According to a US study, many substances that are unique to fresh fruits and vegetables help protect against obesity and other diseases. Examples include lycopene from tomatoes, isoflavones from soy and beta-carotene in carrots, all of which contain properties that help in maintaining optimal weight and health. Lead author Dr. Heather K. Vincent found that although the caloric intake was similar between the people who emerged with normal weight versus the obese participants, those who maintained normal weight consumed more phytochemicals. Dr. Vincent advised, “...Regardless of age and body size, keep going back to the purer plant-based foods.” Dr. Vincent and colleagues we appreciate your findings and sage recommendations.

May everyone optimize their intake of wholesome plant-based foods for the well-being that comes with glowing health.
