Infection with the bacteria, which has been traced to a fish and chips bar, has triggered kidney failure in a toddler and put a new mother on life support. Both are hospitalized, while another two cases have been confirmed.

A council inspection reported very poor hygienic practices in the now-closed eating establishment, saying that workers were observed to prepare foods without washing their hands after handling raw burger meats.

We thank the health inspectors for your efforts to safeguard the public from further harm. Our prayers for both the mother and child’s full and complete recovery and that such incidents are non-existent as more and more people adopt the wholesome and safe vegan diet.
