Erdtempel – die fotografischen Wunder von Matjaž Krivic aus Slowenien (Slowenisch)

HOST (IN SLOVENIAN):
Greetings, splendid viewers, and welcome to our program where we will have
the pleasure to introduce the award-winning Slovenian photographer Matjaž Krivic.
Matjaž Krivic has been taking pictures specializing in showing the personality and grandeur of indigenous people and places for over 20 years. He started to travel at the age of 16, and
has since made the roads his home, journeying across the world with simple belongings and, of course, his camera. It was through his love for traveling that his zeal for photography
was born. From this, he became motivated to become a professional photographer. Starting with the simple portraits of the people he met through his earlier travels, he expanded into enchanting panorama and scenic landscape photography, as well as emotionally charged portraits.

At times his images tell a mystical story between humans and nature. For his exquisite work, he has been twice awarded with the prestigious honor of Royal Geographic Society
Photographer of the Year, and also has been recognized at various venues and exhibitions.
He authored two books featuring his work: 『Tibet,』 published in 2003, and 『Earth Temples,』 published in 2006.

(In Slovenian)Matjaž Krivic (m):
As I traveled I was taking photos and always showed those diapositives to my friends, and then after every journey my friends wanted to see my diapositives, and with time
I’ve gathered a lot of diapositives and gave more and more of those nightstogethe r with friends. Later I went on a longer trip, after I left my job and everything, for one year. And I took about 100 films.
I took 120 films in one year. And after I returned home, I said to myself that I’d like to make a bit bigger projection.
A friend was working in an AV studio, and she said to me: 『Come on, let’s make a multivision.』I asked, 『What is multivision?』『Well, we connect many projectors, so the photos follow one another and we can include music and we get some... a very nice projection comes out of it.』
So I said, 『Wow, great! Come on, let’s do it.』So I made an exhibition and presented this multivision. Many people came and it continued like that in the future, and I said to myself, 『Why wouldn’t I become a photographer』? right?
