Following their meeting on Saturday, October 10, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian signed an historic agreement to re-establish diplomatic relations and re-open their shared border for the first time in nearly 100 years. Helping to mediate the Zürich, Switzerland event, was US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The accord will now be passed to the Armenian and Turkish Parliaments for ratification.
Our respectful congratulations, Your Excellencies of Turkey and Armenia, for your nations’ reconciliation, and many thanks for the assistance of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the United States. May this accord be the seed of flourishing peace and prosperity amongst the people of both lands.
