After studying how Namib beetles collect dew to survive in the desert, Australian university student Edward Linacre in November 2011 introduces a design for the “Airdrop,” a device powered by sunlight that condenses water even from extremely dry air, which can then be used to irrigate crops and alleviate drought conditions.
