A study published in the British Medical Journal shows that in the year following the July 2007 implementation of a ban on smoking in indoor public places, a corresponding drop in hospital heart attack admissions was seen.

The researchers at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom also stated that the 1,200 fewer hospital admissions saved the National Heath Service (NHS) £8.4 million and may have prevented nearly 200 deaths.

Many thanks, University of Bath scientists, for sharing these findings, and a big bravo, England for your efforts that have improved health and saved lives.

May such results motivate people throughout the United Kingdom and the world toward freedom from this harmful habit for the vitality and happiness of ourselves and loved ones alike.
