Mars landscape shaped by changing climate. The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter satellite has been taking detailed photographs of Mars’ surface to help scientists better understand her landscape as well as how the planet’s climate has changed and affected the surface topography.
From the most recent images, scientists can tell more about seasonal changes such as the way the carbon dioxide ice flows in the polar areas. A valley with glacial markings in the Deuteronilus Mensae region was believed to have been formed by major flooding of melted ice water.

Norwegian inventor Jon Bohmer is introducing the Kyoto Box, a solar-powered cooking device. Technologies as these could not only improve the quality of life in regions of Africa and Asia but would also be greatly beneficial for the environment. As many as 3 billion people around the world still depend on energy from wood for cooking, which results in uncontrolled deforestation, increased carbon emissions and serious respiratory problems.
Mr. Bohmer believes that the Kyoto Box could be made available for a mere US$3 if subsidized by international carbon credit markets. A green hats off, Mr. Bohmer for this ingenious and promising green invention.
