More severe 'dead zone' in Mexico.
The oxygen-deprived region that is measured annually in the Gulf of Mexico is smaller than predicted this year; however, it is more severe in its effect as the areas of low oxygen levels are closer to the surface.
The “dead zone,” a region where life can no longer be supported, is formed from agricultural runoff resulting largely from livestock-related activities enters the Gulf and stimulates an overgrowth of algae.

The algae in turn sinks, decomposes and then consumes excessive oxygen form the water. Dr. Jane Lubchenco, Administrator for the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, stated, “Clearly the flow of excess nitrogen and phosphorus from agricultural fields in the Mississippi drainage basin continues to wreak havoc with life in the Gulf.”

Many thanks Administrator Lubchenco and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for your candid report. Let us all make strides toward adopting sustainable ways that honor the lives of all beings on Earth.

During a March 2009 videoconference in Xalapa, Mexico, Supreme Master Ching Hai addressed how human activities contribute to dead zones while offering the fastest solution to the problem.

Supreme Master Ching Hai : Overfishing and chemical run-off from farms and factories all cause harm, because they do not consider the impact of our actions on other beings. For example, you are surely aware of the so called “dead-zones” in the Gulf of Mexico. These waters have been contaminated to such an extent that no life can exist anymore there.

The way to solve this problem is through greater consideration for all life. If everyone is vegetarian, better still vegan, having an animal-free diet, then there is a different outlook for for development of all kinds. In our case, it will proceed to restore the wonders of our marine life.

US funds removal of dangerous underwater nets.
The Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative in Washington state has been granted US$5 million to remove discarded fishing nets that are a source of continuous harm to marine animals. Some nets are larger in size than a football field and will take one diver two days to bring to the surface. Besides clearing the waters for the benefit of aquatic inhabitants such as rare king crabs and whales, the funded endeavor is helping create many new jobs.

Kudos US government for your concerned support in addressing this vital matter. We look forward to ever-expanding efforts that restore the freedom and safety of all co-inhabitants beneath the sea.

Venus may be a model for future changes on Earth.
Climate scientists racing for time to chart the course of climate change on Earth may find benefit in applying models from other solar system planets such as Venus, known for its past runaway global warming catastrophe. Dr. David Grinspoon, an Interdisciplinary Scientist of the European Space Agency’s
Venus Express project shared some insights with Supreme Master Television.

Dr. David Grinspoon – Venus Express Interdisciplinary Scientist of European Space Agency from Denver Museum of Nature & Science, USA (M): A stable and healthy planetary climate is not something you should take for granted. When we look at our neighbor planets, Venus and Mars,
we see two places that started out with Earth-like conditions and lost them – lost the oceans, lost the stable climate for different reasons and in different directions.

Mars became a frozen desert, Venus became a stifling oven. We should use the fact that we now have the ability to learn from the examples of other planets to get smarter and think deeply about how to take care of our planet and not inadvertently push it in one these other dangerous directions.

VOICE: Our appreciation, Dr. Grinspoon and others who are helping us understand our own planet. We look forward to more vital findings that could illuminate wiser decisions on Earth. For many years, Supreme Master Ching Hai through deep inner knowledge has cautioned about the consequences of our own actions by making links to Mars, as in the following 1999 lecture delivered in New York, USA.

Supreme Master Ching Hai: We cannot stop all these people to cut down trees and amass riches for themselves at the cost of ourselves and our children. They Producinge the waste, cutting down enormous trees which is the life saver of this planet. If we keep cutting like this, our planet might become
like Mars very soon. It's all dust and gas and toxins... and pollution. Then we might not be able to live. What do you think Mars has been?

Well, Mars Mars was like us before until we finished it. We do the best we can, and hoping the world will learn. And spread out whatever information you can to whomever you know.
