On Sunday, June 13, Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey and Libya’s Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa signed an agreement to normalize their countries’ ties. This followed the release of Swiss businessman Max Göldi from detainment and his departure to return home from Libya that day. Also agreed between the two nations was an action plan that included arbitration for swift resolution of any further diplomatic issues.

Our respectful congratulations, Your Excellencies, Switzerland and Libya, for your peaceful resolve.
Wishing Mr. Göldi a warm reunion with loved ones and expanding cooperation between both countries as they resume harmonious relations.
