Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Kurdish party chair Ahmet Türk last week in efforts towards reconciliation among Turkish people and Kurds living in Turkey.

Later, the prime minister said, “… I believe our hopes for the future have increased with today’s meeting.” Currently, Kurds number 12 million in the country, representing about one-fifth of the total population.

Our congratulations, Prime Minister Erdogan and Chairman Ahmet Türk on your mutually conciliatory steps. May your lands and people flourish in harmony and shared understanding.
