Zimbabwean attorneys receive human rights award. Created by Argentina’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recognize individuals or groups for their outstanding contributions within their countries, the Emilio Mignone International Human Rights Prize was bestowed upon the Zimbabwean organization, Lawyers for Human Rights. As the first group outside of the Americas to be granted this distinction, the organization’s Director Irene Petras conveyed the group’s gratitude for the award, especially coming from a developing country such as Argentina that itself has experienced a challenging period to achieve better protection of human rights. She said she was thankful for the recognition of their efforts and the offer of solidarity.

We join in warm accolades, Lawyers for Human Rights of Zimbabwe, for your well-deserved award. May Heaven grace your continued noble efforts as we look forward to the day that human dignity and respect are shared by all people across the globe.
