Turkish president mediates diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Leaders of the three countries convened for a fifth summit on Friday, December 24 in which Turkish President Abdullah Gül acted as mediator in helping renew cordial relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. During their meeting, representatives of the three governments also signed memoranda of understanding in the areas of disaster management, halting drug trafficking and cultural exchange. In addition, they pledged to maintain communication through regular video conferencing.

Your Excellencies, we earnestly congratulate your efforts to forge harmonious ties as we thank President Gül and Turkey for the helpful mediation. With Allah’s grace, may the day come soon that all Turkish, Afghan and Pakistani people enjoy neighborly peace, prosperity and brotherly love.
