The new law, which will be implemented in the coming months, also bans cigarette advertisements. Fines will be imposed on those not adhering to the regulation.

Member of Parliament His Excellency Dr. Atef Majdalani, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Health, stated that Lebanon’s expense for medical treatment of smoking-related diseases is US$350 million a year.
