Japanese
auto manufacturer Nissan has developed the zero-emissions, lithium-ion
battery-powered LEAF to communicate with phone devices like the iPhone
and the HTC Desire, for easier access to information such as remaining
battery power in the car and updates as to when it is fully recharged.
Drivers
can also remotely set the desired temperature for the car’s interior
upon their return. The LEAF is set to release in early 2011 with a cost
of under US$30,000. Kudos Nissan LEAF, for these innovations that offer
simultaneous convenience and sustainability.
We look forward to the day that such technologies become the norm as we advance in greener living across the globe.
