According to the United Kingdom’s Food Standard Agency (FSA), the potentially deadly Campylobacter bacterium is present in 65 percent of all chicken on sale in supermarkets. Illness caused by Campylobacter infection can range from a week of abdominal pain to a life-threatening bloodstream infection. In 2001 the FSA had conducted a similar survey and found the contamination rates for Campylobacter approximately the same.

Our heartfelt thanks, food safety authorities for sharing this information with the public. May humanity’s future food choices be plant-based for optimal individual and planetary health.
