A new Israeli study from Tel Aviv University involving more than 1,500 patients age 65 and older being treated for a first-time heart attack found that those who quit smoking afterward lived longer than those who did not. In fact, the patients who quit were found to have a similar mortality rate to heart attack survivors who had never smoked. The researchers thus recommended smoking-cessation counseling for all heart attack patients.

Many thanks scientists at Tel Aviv University for these affirming results showing that quitting smoking helps extends lives. We look forward to such insights bringing people of all ages the soon blessing of an intoxicant-free world.
