Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from Thailand.
Officials declared disaster zones in 18 districts of the northeastern province of Kalasin on December 15 after cold weather caused at least five fatalities and left 300,000 residents in need of warm clothing.

On December 16, while conveying her sorrow and prayers, Supreme Master Ching Hai quickly asked that our native or nearby Association members please go to help those most in need, saying that financial assistance is available if needed. On December 27, our Association’s native relief team arrived at the provincial capital
of Kalasin.

With the help of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the relief team went to some of the affected communities, where they distributed blankets, soymilk for children, and informative SOS flyers to 200 families from 20 different villages in the Somdet district; 300 families in two Na Khu district villages,
and 300 families in 12 villages of the Kuchinarai district.

The relief recipients expressed their thankfulness to Supreme Master Ching Hai for her unconditional love and kindness. We send our appreciation for the assistance of the Kalasin officials.

Our gratefulness as well for Supreme Master Ching Hai’s comforting support and for the diligent endeavors of our Association’s relief team. We pray for the Thai people’s swift recuperation to the regularity of their daily lives and that such disturbing conditions are alleviated through humanity’s gentler ways.
