Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association relief news update from China.
Chongqing Municipality saw its worst rainfall in 50 years at the beginning of August, with landslides, mud-rock flows, and floods in 25 districts.
Over 1.5 million people were affected and at least 10 lost their lives. With over 10,000 houses having collapsed and another 16,000 damaged, some 123,000 people were displaced.
On August 6, Supreme Master Ching Hai donated US$20,000 in emergency aid, conveying her love and sympathy and requesting that our local Association members go comfort and help in any way they could.
The amount could purchase US$157,000 in items bought in the United States, based on China’s cost of living.
As requested by Supreme Master Ching Hai, we would like to share the following update.

Re: relief work in Sichuan Province, China Thanks to the local government’s prompt reaction, the living materials for the victims were supplied sufficiently.
We went to the most affected areas to convey Master’s love and comfort to victims in 15 towns and 36 villages.
We distributed relief items to 200 families, which included financial aid and food supplies. We also gave victims the “Vegan Diet = Healthy Life” flyer to help them understand the tolls of climate change and how the plant-based solution can solve the global crisis.
The disabled people and single elders said that Master’s care eased their loneliness and made them feel loved.
The victims were moved to tears while receiving Master’s relief materials.
We are deeply grateful for Master’s blessing and guidance to complete the relief work smoothly.
