A way to perfect understanding among all co-inhabitants.
Just after the “Global Warming… There is a Solution” climate change conference in Lima, Peru, honored guest Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously accepted an invitation to share her wisdom at the premiere of the Spanish edition of the book “The Dogs in My Life,” which she had also authored. With the English edition
having reached #1 internationally on the world’s largest online bookstore, www.Amazon.com, the book had just made #1 bestseller again shortly after its Spanish language debut.

“The Dogs in My Life” relates the heartwarming stories of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s rescued dog companions, sharing with countless readers the tears, humor, and love.

During the live broadcast videoconference, Supreme Master Ching Hai responded to the expressed wish of many people in revealing once more the way to communicate with our animal friends, reassuring us that this ability is also a part of what we gain from our efforts to save the planet.

Videoconference with Supreme Master Ching Hai “Global Warming… There is a Solution!”Lima, Peru – September 12, 2009

Supreme Master Ching Hai: So now, there is a very simple way to understand each other. First, we should try to understand humans. And then we try to love the animals by not eating them, but to protect them.
And then from then, inner quality, our good quality will have a chance to blossom again. Then we will understand each other more and we will understand also other co-inhabitants, like animals.

We understand without even language; we understand even before we speak to each other. We will have more love for each other and for other beings like animals on this planet. Then we will be able to save the planet.

VOICE: We are happy for the Spanish readers who are now able to enjoy “The Dogs in My Life,” a book meant to open our minds and our hearts. Our gratefulness goes to Supreme Master Ching Hai who has shared this treasure of pictures and poetry for the world’s benefit.

May each and every one of us be veg to step closer to our dream of seeing all beings walk in harmonious co-existence.Please tune in to Supreme Master Television’s Words of Wisdom for the full rebroadcast of this live event at a later date, with multi-language subtitles.

UNEP urges non-carbon dioxide emission reduction as well.

As part of the 3rd World Climate Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Executive Director Achim Steiner urged the world to evaluate the effects of a wider range of greenhouse gases, not just carbon dioxide.

Saying that non-CO2 pollutants such as methane, nitrogen compounds, black carbon and low-lying ozone could also contribute significantly to global warming emissions, Director Steiner warned of the need to act now as he stated, “The science is showing us that global warming is happening faster and on a greater scale
than anticipated.”

He went on to say that actions to address more than CO2 alone could bring quick improvements to both health and food security. Achim Steiner – UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of UNEP (M): What is the role of livestock, in terms of climate change, but also what is the consumption of livestock and the increasing use of meat for instance in our diets?

Our role is to inform people and to also give them the opportunity to perhaps change their lifestyles by having better information.

In related research, scientists have recently found that gases emitted from livestock raising could be contributing more than 60% of the total greenhouse gas effect.

Many thanks, Director Steiner, United Nations Environment Program and all contributing researchers for this vital reminder of our planet’s fragile state.

May we heed the call and do everything possible, including halting meat consumption, to return our cherished Earth to a sustainable state.

Supreme Master Ching Hai has long highlighted the need to end the livestock industry, citing the vast amounts of methane and other greenhouse gases released, as during an April 2009 videoconference in South Korea.

Supreme Master Ching Hai: The main gasses from livestock raising are methane and nitrous oxide.
Scientists say that methane causes up to 72 times the atmospheric heat trapping of carbon dioxide, averaged over a 20-year period. So, if we eliminate meat from our diets, we automatically and very quickly reduce global warming by a tremendous amount, if not most of it.

If everyone becomes vegan, stop livestock raising, our Earth, the humans, the animals, the environment will definitely be saved.
