Animal welfare organizations such as the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection are calling for the closure of loopholes in the law that allow the captive breeding and sale of hundreds of thousands of wild monkeys for animal experimentation, a practice that is not only extremely cruel but is also leading to their extinction.
