Gulf Cooperation Council to enact law for better animal treatment. The Gulf Cooperation Council members of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are working on a new animal protection policy due to be approved by the end of 2008. Dr. Salman Abdulnabi, Director of Bahrain’s Animal Resources at the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs stated that the law would ensure proper animal care, feeding, treatment and training.

Dr. Abdulnabi and Gulf Cooperation Council members, we are gladdened by your commitment to animal welfare. With Allah’s grace, may the kindness encouraged by your new policy result in flourishing companionships among people and their loving animal friends.
