Approximately 33,000 pounds of beef tongues from an Omaha, Nebraska company is being recalled as they may still have tonsils attached. Tonsils are considered a specified risk material because they are known to contain the infective agent in cattle that may suffer from Mad Cow or Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease, which is fatal in humans.
We pray that humans and animals alike remain safe from this disease as we look forward to a future in which everyone chooses the wholesome and humane plant-based fare.
