At the 56th session of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Fez, Morocco, Jordan was recognized by the WHO for her anti-smoking efforts as well as being presented with the State of Kuwait Prize for her endeavors in preventing cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes in the Eastern Mediterranean. Jordanian Health Minister Nayef Fayez, who is also head ofthe country’s delegation for the 56th session, received the award.

Our respectful congratulations, Minister Fayez and Jordan, for your outstanding efforts in striving for the smoke- and cancer-free health of your nation. May your wise leadership continue bringing Jordanians abundant vitality and contentment.
