The government of Basque in northern Spain has approved a new law that prohibits adults from smoking in cars when a child is present as well as on children's playgrounds and other school grounds. Effective January 1, 2011,a smoking ban is also being implemented in all bars, restaurants and other enclosed public places.

Bravo Basque Country, Spain for your health-promoting decision, especially in protecting precious youths. May this exemplary measure motivate many governments toward policies that similarly ensure vitality and clean air for all citizens.
