Smoking is now banned in bars, restaurants, offices and public spaces across the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
Containing an estimated 40 million people, this highly populated state has received 90 percent support on banning tobacco uses in public places.

Since the country began printing disturbing images on cigarette packs in 2001, the number of smokers in the country has dropped from 34 percent in 1989 to 15 percent in 2008.

A big bravo, São Paulo and Brazil for your continued advancements in protecting public health. Looking forward to
the day that all corners of the Earth are graced with clean, smoke-free environments.
