In animal welfare news, a Philippine young hero is honored for helping to rescue a precious life. Eight-year-old Carl Andrei Leuterio of Barangay Poblacion in Oriental Mindoro was presented with the “Hero of the Environment Award” by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Carl was swimming near his village with three other youngsters when he saw a dolphin that appeared to be weakened. He approached and hugged the injured animal, later reporting the situation to authorities. They were able to arrive within three hours and lead the dolphin to deeper and safer waters.
Congratulations, brave and compassionate Carl Andrei Leuterio, on your recognition. May all our cherished animal friends of land and sea have ample area to roam and flourish, under Heaven’s loving protection.
