Interview with Supreme Master Ching Hai by Irish Independent.

Last week, Ireland’s most widely read daily newspaper Irish Independent, invited Supreme Master Ching Hai for a telephone interview to share her views on what needs to be done to save the planet. Supreme Master Ching Hai took time from her busy schedule to answer all the newspaper’s questions. The following is an excerpt from Supreme Master Ching Hai’s answer to the Irish Independent journalist’s question of what kind of world we will have if we all become vegetarian.

Supreme Master Ching Hai:  We will not have any more Earth; we will have Heaven. Because the atmosphere that we generate, which is all loving and kind due to the vegetarian diet, which means no killing, no abusing, and no suffering to animals, and also no sickness for us, will be more peaceful, more benevolent. The positive will attract positive, and we will have abundance of all necessity. And we’ll have a happy conscience, and a loving heart will return to our beings, humans and animals alike. And then we’ll be living in perfect harmony and peace.

VOICE: The full article entitled “The Supreme Master Heralds the Way Forward” will be published in Irish Independent’s new quarterly magazine called “The Earth,” available in all SHOPS, NEWSPAPER STANDS AND AIRPORTS NATIONWIDE IN IRELAND AND THROUGHOUT THE UK ON TUESDAY, JUNE 24, 2008.

We thank Irish Independent for all your endeavors to inform your readers about sustainable living and the choice to go veg.

Our gratitude to Supreme Master Ching Hai for setting aside her time to once again remind humanity of the rewards that come through the switch to a peaceful, plant-based diet.  May all sectors of society embrace the hour at hand – the mission to rescue our one and only planet!

US agency affirms extreme weather shift due to climate change.

According to a report from the US Climate Change Science Program, compiled by numerous government agencies, global warming will cause weather conditions to become more severe, with droughts and floods increasing in both severity and length. The report also forecasts a quickening of the frequency of these extreme events, and cautions that preventative measures should take climate change trends into account to be effective safeguards for the future.

Many thanks, US researchers, for shedding further light on the cause of some of the extreme events occurring around the world. May every country quickly adopt green living standards to ease the effects of climate change and better secure our future on Earth.

Increased earthquake activity now linked to global warming.

Dr. Tom Chalko, geophysical head of Australia’s Scientific Engineering Research, has noted an alarming increase in earthquake activity, which is now five times greater than what it was twenty years ago. Citing NASA data that shows the Earth is currently absorbing more heat energy from the Sun than it is able to radiate back into space, Dr. Chalko stated, “This 'thermal imbalance' means that heat generated in the planetary interior cannot escape and that the planetary interior must overheat. Increase in seismic, tectonic and volcanic activities is an unavoidable consequence of the observed thermal imbalance of the planet.”  Dr. Chalko is urging the international scientific community to share this information with the public and says, “Consequences of inaction can only be catastrophic. There is no time for half-measures."

Our deep gratitude, Dr. Chalko, for pointing out the connection between global warming and earthquakes as well as volcanic activity.  We pray all world citizens will act quickly in preserving our treasured Earthly home.
