Computer simulations are effective in reducing smoking addiction.

A study by Canadian researchers has revealed that the act of crushing computer-simulated cigarettes was significantly beneficial in helping participants quit smoking.

The study was part of a 12-week anti-smoking program that included support from computer-generated virtual reality environments. Of two groups evaluated, the one that employed virtual cigarette crushing showed a much greater decrease in nicotine addiction, as well as increased treatment retention and a higher smoking abstinence rate.

Canadian scientists, many thanks for sharing these encouraging findings. May your work help free many people of the harmful tobacco habit to hasten the arrival of a wholesome, intoxicant-free world for all.
