A third person has now perished in a small northwestern town, which was quarantined following the death of two persons from the virulent disease. The pneumonic plague, which has been known to originate from the consumption of contaminated

marmot meat and is transmitted between humans by coughing, is highly lethal and can cause loss of life within 24 hours. It has now affected at least nine other people in the area. Our sincere condolences to the families of the succumbed individuals, and prayers for the safety of those ailing or vulnerable to the contagion.
