ベジフード製品におけるドイツの先駆者1/3(ドイツ語)

Greetings, cultured viewers, and welcome to today’s episode of Vegetarianism: The Noble Way of Living, “German Pioneers in Veg Food Production.” In this 3-part series, we will introduce you to some dedicated individuals who have contributed to the development and retail of meat and dairy alternatives for the national and international market for the past three decades.

All of these remarkable pioneers have some things in common. Having been vegetarians or vegans themselves they saw the need for a wider variety of tasty alternatives.

They had faith that the market for vegan foods would also permanently increase with growing awareness and the mounting evidence on the detrimental effects of meat production on health and the environment.

Fearlessly and tireless overcoming limited finances and personnel, they were devoted to create and provide cruelty-free food products, making it easier for people to transition to a more sustainable plant-based diet. Thanks to their devotion, the conscious consumer now has an ever flourishing selection of beautiful, delicious, and wholesome vegan items.

Today, we will be hearing from the founders and personnel of four companies who have pioneered the evolution of the veg food market in Europe and the world: Tofutown, Taifun, Hexerküche, and Vegusto.

Mr. Bernd Drosihn is the Chief Executive Officer of Tofutown, otherwise known as Viana, based in central Germany. The company first originated as the TofuCollective, later became Viana Natural Foods Ltd.,and eventually expanded internationally to be known as Tofutown. Mr. Drosihn has been with company from its very first start almost 30 years ago.
