Western Australia has banned smoking in a car with children and within 10 meters of a playground. In addition, retailers are prohibited from displaying any products made from tobacco. Restrictions have also been placed on smoking in outdoor cafes. Professor Mike Daube, president of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, praised the new laws.
