The Bosnian pyramids are the biggest discovery in archeology, and one of the biggest in the science.

Around the globe, pyramids have dotted the line of human history, sparkling as jewels of spiritual, intellectual and cooperative achievement for ages. From South America to China, from India to the Middle East, pyramids remain as inspirational as they are enigmatic, many thousands of years after their creation. Inquiring viewers, today on Science and Spirituality, we present the first in a three-part interview with the Bosnian-American pyramid researcher and author, Dr. Sam Semir Osmanagich about the Bosnian pyramids.

For the last 25 years, I have been investigating pyramids all over the world, and I know that they are not phenomena linked to Egypt and Mexico. They were built everywhere during the ancient times.

Dr. Osmanagich, called “Bosnia’s Indiana Jones,” has devoted his life to the exploration of ancient civilizations. He has written 10 books about the advanced societies of long ago such as the Mayan civilization which flourished in the Americas. These texts have been published in the United States, Turkey, Croatia, Estonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2007, he narrated a Bosnian state television channel-produced 12-episode documentary called “Search for Lost Civilization” that is based on his book “Civilizations Before the Official History.” Dr. Osmanagich discovered the Bosnian pyramids by chance during a visit to his homeland.

In April of 2005, I first came to the town of Visoko, even though for about 25 years I lived in the city of Sarajevo which is just 20 miles from Visoko, but I had no need to go there. And then, I went there to see something else, to see the local museum. But when I saw such a beautiful structure with the regular geometry and perfect orientation, I knew it was a manmade structure. I climbed to the top, then I saw another structure across the valley, also covered by wood, and I knew that we have manmade pyramids.

And somehow a picture started coming to my mind. I could see that the whole valley was paved; everybody who had come here had to go between those two pyramids. Those pyramids have been covered by soil and vegetation. We have to realize that most of the pyramids in the world, like 250 of them in China, they’re completely covered by soil. We have hundreds of pyramids, in El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras; they are all in the jungles, also covered, the same thing as in Bosnia.

There are a total of five pyramids in Visoko and Dr. Osmanagich now further explains about these structures.

Between the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun and the Moon there is a very obvious astronomical connection, namely, the shadow of the Sun Pyramid moves in the valley, and before the Sun sets, that shadow covers the Moon Pyramid. In a symbolic way it’s saying the role of the day and the Sun is over and the role of the night and the Moon starts. I’ve seen hundreds of pyramids by the same name in Central and South America, but such a clear astronomical connection is only in Bosnia.

The third structure, I called the Pyramid of Dragon not because we had dragons in Bosnia, but the dragon is a symbol for power and knowledge in China, in Mexico, and in Peru. So I gave my respect to the knowledgeable builders. The fourth structure, I called the Temple of Mother Earth. In this society, we have forgotten to pay our respect to this planet, which gives us life. The ancient people knew how to respect this planet, and they did call it Mother Earth. And the fifth pyramid I called the Pyramid of Love. We know that words are very powerful and the most powerful word is the word “Love.” I want that this word color the valley with love.

Over the years, a number of experts have concluded that the hills in Visoko are not natural formations. In 2007, Dr. Ali Abdullah Barakat, an Egyptian geologist, stated, “The stone plates [in the hills] are handmade.” Chris Dunn, a pyramid researcher, and the author of “The Giza Power Plant” and “Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt,” also believes humans built the Bosnian pyramids.

In order to call something a “pyramid,” you have to have five elements. Number one is the geometry. You have to have the geometry of a pyramid. It means you have to have triangle faces, four of them. You have to see the corners and a rectangle or square as a base. In the case of the Bosnian pyramids, that’s what they all have, perfect geometry.

The second element is the orientation. For some reason, all Chinese pyramids are oriented east, west, north, and south. Most of the Egyptian pyramids also match the cardinal points, east, west north, and south. Most of the Peruvian (pyramids do), (and) the same thing with (the) Bosnian. So, for some reason, the orientation is a very important factor.

Number three, there has to be construction material. In Egypt they use limestone and granite. In Guatemala, they use volcanic stone; in Peru, they use adobe bricks, all this is local material. In Bosnia, they use conglomerate to make the concrete blocks and they use sandstone.

Number four, there are always inner passageways and chambers in the pyramids. And that’s what we located with the satellite radar and the geo radar on the ground. And number five, there are underground tunnels that connect all the pyramids. All five elements are present in the case of the Bosnian pyramids, so they fulfill all the scientific criteria.

Dr. Osmanagich has created a non-profit research organization called The Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation whose mission is to facilitate archaeological excavation of the pyramid sites in Visoko Valley. Excavation work began in April 2007.

And then I started this scientific project, I got involved with so many wonderful people from all over the world, so many scientists, researchers, volunteers, and tourists who give us moral support. So it has become a special place on this planet.

Between 2005 and March 2011, approximately 500,000 people including various pyramid experts, the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency Dr. Haris Silajdžić and His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia have visited the Bosnian pyramids. In August 2008, the “First International Scientific Conference on the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids” took place in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over 50 archaeologists, Egyptologists, geologists, architects, chemists, and experts in other disciplines came from around the world to participate in the gathering.

The Great Pyramid of Egypt or Khufu’s or Cheops Pyramid is 147.5 meters in height. The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun is at least 220 meters, which is one-third higher, but three times more in volume. So, when you have something so big, it changes our view of history. The second biggest (pyramid), the Bosnian Pyramid of the Moon, with its height of 190 meters, is also bigger than the Great Pyramid of Egypt.

Now, when we analyze the soil that covers the pyramid, done by the Institute for Pedology in Bosnia, the results have shown that the soil is over 12,000 years old. In other words, the pyramids are even older. According to mainstream scientists, Egyptian pyramids are only 4,600 years old, and the Chinese, Peruvian or Mexican (pyramids are) 2,200 years old. So if the Bosnian (pyramids) are over 12,000 years old, it means they are not only the biggest, but the oldest.

The discovery of the Bosnian pyramids takes us back thousands and thousands of years, before what we consider today as the beginning of civilization. The ancient Sumer, Babylon, Akkad, Assyria, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Indian and so on, it’s about 8,000 years (old). The Bosnian pyramids, are all 12,000 years (old), meaning we need to move (the date of) the beginning of advanced civilization. So it’s not just a matter for us adding a couple of chapters in our history books.

No, we need to completely rewrite them. When it comes to radiocarbon dating, we've done a lot of analysis with the leading institutions like University of Uppsala in Sweden, University of Kiel in Germany, and Silesian University of Technology in Poland and we are getting a lot of results. Thirty two thousand years is the age of a piece of wood that we discovered in the underground tunnels. And this is probably the time when the accumulation of this material called conglomerate started.

So why is that important? Because under the conglomerate, before 32,000 years ago, we are finding some ceramic blocks (which are) up to 18,000 pounds (in weight).

They are manmade. So somebody had technology more than 30,000 years ago to make those ceramic blocks. The age of the pyramids will be exactly (determined) when we enter the chambers inside the pyramid, which we haven’t yet. And then we (will) find the organic material that belongs to the original builders; a piece of wood or bone or charcoal.

Through satellite images and aerial photos of the Visoko Valley, Dr. Osmanagich has detected a pattern with regards to the placement of the Bosnian pyramids and says this design is found at pyramid sites elsewhere in the world.

The three main pyramids in Bosnia, Sun, Moon, and Dragon, form an equilateral triangle when you connect their tops and the distance between the tops is approximately one and a half miles.

So obviously somebody was planning how to build and lay them out. Of course we know that in the last few decades there are scientists, independent researchers who were finding very interesting stuff. For example, the three pyramids on the Giza plateau, Cheops, Khafre and Menkaure, they form a triangle. And three pyramids on the plateau Teotihuacan in Mexico, the pyramids of the Sun, Moon and Quetzalcoatl, they have the same layout, which perfectly matches the layout of the three stars in the Orion belt.

Excavation work began in April 2007. Who built the Bosnian pyramids and what can we tell about their civilization based upon what we have found thus far? Dr. Osmanagich theorizes the people behind these structures were special.

In the case of a lot of pyramids in China, the biggest one, we don’t know who built them. In the case of the Bosnian pyramids, we don’t know who built them. We are just learning about their technological process which was very advanced. We can see the (pyramids’) subtle geometry. We can see astronomical knowledge. We can see mathematical knowledge. I think they are very advanced, intelligent beings, most probably humans. The difference between us is in some technological level, sometimes in aspects of our mental capabilities.

It seems that the people before relied more on themselves and their mental capabilities. And today we rely on technology, cameras, computers, cranes, and automobiles. People in the past had different ways – how to build, how to erect, and how to transport (things). And we are just learning about that and they’ve created such ingenious structures like pyramids.

The drilling that has been done on the surface of one pyramid suggests the top is made up of a layer of sandstone and breccia blocks.

The Pyramid of the Sun, it looks like an Egyptian pyramid, and the top of the pyramid is covered with concrete blocks. In the case of the Moon Pyramid, you have terraces which consist of sandstone, nicely shaped blocks, and then layers of clay, and sandstone plates, layers of clay all the way to the top. So we need to figure out the secret of their design and the different materials. Our concrete is actually rather inferior, it lasts 50, 200, 500 years, and that’s it. The concrete in the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun has been around at least 12,000 years. It can last another hundred thousand years, because its properties are much better than our concrete.

The Bosnian pyramids complex has a network of underground tunnels, called the Ravne tunnels, that lead toward the Pyramid of the Sun. The creators of this system dug through conglomerate rock, which has been determined to be over 30,000 years old. The investigation of this subterranean structure, which includes chambers, began in 2005. Interestingly it appears that at some point after their construction, sections of the tunnels were purposely walled off to prevent entry.

When we entered the underground tunnels; all the tunnels were kind of filled up with material and then sealed off with drywalls. So in order to reach the pyramid, we need to clean at least one road that leads to the pyramids. We remove the drywall, we remove the material and we move through the tunnels. I would say they are two mysteries. First, who built the tunnels? And second, who filled them up and basically shut them down?

Etchings have been found on megaliths or human-made stone building blocks inside the tunnels. However the meaning of these etching is still unclear.

In the case of our underground tunnels, we are finding those ceramic blocks; on some of them we can see some carved symbols. I wouldn’t say that it was writing. It’s not like an alphabet. (There are) a lot of arrows and you can see some symbols like people are communicating to each other and telling them which way to go, because after all, if you have an underground labyrinth (you need them). But if you have some symbols, it means you have some type of literacy. So people are literate and probably these (symbols) are the oldest proof of literacy in Europe.

Curiously, flora that is not native to the area has been found growing in the soil covering one of the pyramids. Dr. Osmanagich now further explains this phenomenon.

When it comes to climate, we know that Bosnia has a continental climate with four seasons. A couple of hundred miles south is the Mediterranean (region), a much warmer climate. But now, only with the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, we can see the plants that belong to the warmer Mediterranean climate. On the surrounding natural hills, you cannot find that. Why? The Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun has so many inner passageways, tunnels, and chambers; during the spring and the summer, the temperature of the surface is higher than on the natural hills. And it helps Mediterranean plants to grow there.

Scientists from a number nations, including Russia, Croatia, and the UK have conducted tests and concluded that an energy beam or ultrasound frequency is being emitted from the peak of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. The beam is estimated to have a radius of 4.5 meters.

In the case of the Bosnian pyramids, we’ve been doing the pioneering steps in determining the real purpose of the pyramids. We have detected the energy beam coming through the top of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun. This right here. This energy beam has a frequency of 28 kilohertz. That’s the frequency of the ultrasound, which you cannot hear or see. It’s continuous and it shoots right above us. Where? We don’t know, but we were able to measure it with our instruments. So this phenomenon is here.

In today’s society, we use ultrasound for medical purposes, but you always have to have an artificial source. It can be a mechanical device or an electromagnetic device, when you squeeze the quartz crystal. But, it’s always an artificial source. It seems that some of the pyramids in Bosnia are some type of energy machine. If that’s true, it means that in the distant past, they made this machine. It works even today after thousands of years. This is a machine that never stops. This was more like science fiction in the past, but we have it here in Bosnia.

Another measurement we did was the intensity of the energy beam. What we did, we had a team of physicists from Zagreb (Croatia), 10 of them. They came with their instruments, and they measured the intensity on the surface of the pyramid. And then they measured three meters or 10 feet higher. It was stronger. They measured another 10 feet higher, 20 feet from the bottom of the pyramid, and it was even stronger. As you move from the center of the pyramid, the energy intensity rises. The energy’s getting stronger and stronger.

It contradicts all our physical laws. It contradicts our technology which is based on so-called Hertzian technology, saying that closer to the source, the energy’s stronger. In our case, you have something opposite. You are moving away from the source and the energy’s getting stronger. It means that if you shoot that energy beam, it’s getting stronger as it travels through the universe. It means that you can reach any point in the universe. You can connect with any planet or solar system. So, we are opening a completely new door in this investigation.

In January 2011, the SB Research Group, which seeks “to study architecture, geometry and shape of the structures in the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids and the development of knowledge from the viewpoint of anthropological and historical discoveries made in this context” and is comprised of researchers mainly from two Italian institutions, the University of Trieste and the Polytechnic of Milan conducted an experiment using a device that can convert ultrasound vibration into audible sounds. The ultrasound vibration heard at the top of the Pyramid of the Sun is characterized by the group as a “whistling” sound.

If we have such a powerful energy source and such a powerful, focused energy beam, with its strength and intensity rising as it moves away from this planet, it’s possible to hit any point in the universe. If you can make that energy bridge between two cosmic bodies, then you can transport anything you want. After all, we are only frequencies. Our body, that’s just a frequency. Our thoughts, just a frequency. The stones, just a different frequency. And then the vibration can go through that energy bridge.

There are different ways for transportation. For example, when you have an opera singer singing a high C note, and if you have a glass in front of him, the glass will break. It means that the sound in this particular case has very destructive properties. But imagine, if you change the frequency a little bit, like on your radio, probably the sound will have the power not to destruct, but to move the glass, to lift it, to transport it. It’s very possible that people in the past had the knowledge how to use different frequencies for different tasks. If it can be proven that you can transport anything, anywhere, then you have the biggest discovery ever. So you go much beyond our planetary borders.

As we learned last week, scientists from a number nations, including Russia, Croatia, and the UK have conducted tests and concluded that an energy beam or ultrasound frequency is being emitted from the peak of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun . The beam is estimated to have a radius of 4.5 meters. Dr. Osmanagich says that a machine was placed inside the pyramid thousands of years ago and is the source of the beam.

He also says that such technology is not extraordinary as the distinguished 20th century Croatian-American inventor Nikola Tesla once demonstrated it is possible to create free energy. One of the goals of Tesla’s unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project was to extract free energy from the atmosphere and the Earth on a large-scale and then transmit it wirelessly to users.

With this energy beam, it means that you have an energy source which is free, with a huge intensity. And look what we have today. We have to build very expensive power plants, nuclear plants, with so many problems. When we transport the energy, we lose 70% (of it). When we sell it, it’s so expensive. But the whole system is based on such expensive energy. Not to mention gas, oil and so on.

Here we have the possibility to get free energy forever. It means that we can finally make a society with equality. People will have more time to be happy. One hundred and twenty years ago, one brilliant scientist called Nikola Tesla from Croatia, he made an experiment in his lab, the so-called Tesla coils, some type of (electrical) transformers. He moved the energy in a wireless way 120 years ago.

And, at that time, there was a town called Colorado Springs (USA) with 20,000 homes. He brought light to 20,000 homes in a wireless fashion from his lab. So he was using the ionosphere as the source of the energies. So he tapped (the energy) there. And, the planet, the Earth, he used as the condenser. So he was using everything that was freely available, and he managed to give the free power to the people for one night.

Apparently, it seems that the interest of some corporations was that we not have the free energy, but the energy that they can sell. So all his patents and all his works were forgotten or put to the side. Now, we have the second case, the Bosnian pyramids that reminds us that there is a source of free energy.

Dr. Osmanagich believes that being inside the Ravne tunnels, a series of underground passageways and chambers near the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, helps to heal the body. He now explains further.

Under the five pyramids in Bosnia, we have discovered the network of the tunnels and chambers and lakes. When you enter there, you feel so peaceful. It’s calm, the air circulation is perfect. The people who built it, they had such advanced engineering skills and you feel so much better when you are inside. People who have problems with asthma, when they get in there, they finally breathe normally. People who have some other problems, they simply feel much better, just by being there. So we wanted to find out about this phenomenon.

So we had instruments that can measure the negative radiation. In this room right now, we can feel on a subconscious level, several (types of) negative radiation. The first is the cosmic radioactivity. We don’t see that, but it hits the surface of the planet constantly and it’s negative; damaging our body. Then you have negativity from the inside of the planet. Number three, you have water flowing underground. Whenever you have underground rivers, you have negative energy coming up attacking your body.

Then there is some phenomenon called Hartmann grids. We are surrounded by so many sources of negative radiation. We have several instruments to measure them. Once we entered the tunnels, the results for all this radiation was zero. In other words, no cosmic, no underground water negative energies, no Hartmann grids. No negative radiation.

Dr. Osmanagich has personally experienced an improvement in his own health from spending time in the Ravne tunnels.

Our cells do not need to fight that negative radiation and they can do their job that they were originally assigned to, meaning they’re supposed to balance the energies in our body; to balance and harmonize all our body organs and to fight toxins. And, what we are going to do, in the summer of 2011, we are going to measure 100 volunteers, their state of health before entering the tunnels and after. I was the first one, who was tested before and after.

Before they measured 65 points in my body, all the body organs, the (blood) pressure, the blood, everything. One of the things they found out was that whenever you have organs in pairs like the lungs, you have a left and right side. Usually one organ works better; the other one is a little bit slower. In the case of my lungs, my left side works better. Why? Because when we breathe, we don’t breathe properly. We should breathe much deeper instead of what we do. So the left side is better than the right side.

I went to the tunnels. I came back after a couple of hours. What happened? The cells did not have to fight radiation, so, they were communicating in the body. They were taking the energy from this side to the right side. So they were acting very diligently. Now they were doing their job.

Volunteers with the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation are removing material from inside the Ravne tunnels and discovering new passageways. Dr. Osmanagich now shares his thoughts on why these tunnels appear to have been purposely closed off at one point in history.

The second civilization that came there for some reason, they decided to hide whatever is behind those tunnels, because they need to lead somewhere. And it seems that they systematically cleaned those tunnels of bones and artifacts and tools, because we find almost none. So it is a big mystery at this point. Why would somebody use hundreds of thousands of tons of material to fill everything up? (Why) bring millions of small blocks from the river beds in order make those drywalls?

So it’s a mystery after mystery in Bosnia.

We are abusing our planet by rapidly depleting its precious gifts such as fresh water. Dr. Osmanagich advocates we change our ways by learning how the past civilizations lived as well as by rediscovering our own inner self-nature and divinity.

Today we rely on technology, cameras, computers, cranes, and automobiles. People in the past had different ways, how to build, how to erect, and how to transport (things). They’ve created such ingenious structures like the pyramids. You see how we live today. We behave like we are the conquerors of the planet. We destroy everything in front of us, the plants and the animals. Who gives us that right? We are supposed to live in harmony with this planet. Today, we act 99% as materialistic beings, only after money. That’s why we live in such a stressful environment, because we create such an environment.

If we want change, change will not come from the outside. It comes from within. First we need to change ourselves. We need to learn how to live in harmony, how to balance our spiritual and our physical aspects. Once we do that, we start working in our environment, in our surroundings and that’s how we change the world.

Dr. Osmanagich encourages volunteers to come to Visoko and engage in research work on the pyramids and the tunnels beneath them.

The discovery in Bosnia is the world’s cultural heritage. It belongs to the whole world, not to one man, one foundation, or one little country. So far, archaeological research has belonged to the elites. Only archeologists could go to the important archaeological sites and only selected archeologists could go to the most important sites.

In our case, we proclaim to be open to everyone. Whoever wants to become a part of the project, they are welcome to come to Bosnia. They can come and work with us – one shift, one week, or two weeks, and they will get a unique experience. So when I say it belongs to the world, really anyone can come and see what we have and be part of it, so they can be volunteers, or researchers, or scientists, or alternative scientists or tourists; it is open for everyone. We need to raise our consciousness, people need to be aware of such a wonderful archaeological site.
