In veg news, a forum on the many health benefits of the plant-based diet is held for Formosan (Taiwanese) medical students. Organized by the National Defense Medical Center in Formosa, the seminar was based on the book “The Essential Diet for New Age.” This publication has been recommended by more than 100 physicians in Formosa (Taiwan) and very favorably reviewed in a number of media, including the popular TVBS television station. It contains 31 vegan doctors and dieticians presenting their clinical findings as to the numerous ways that the animal-free diet enhances well-being. Twelve of these writers were invited to share their understanding of the veg concept.

can cure our diseases to a certain extent. But our lifestyle, especially our diet, plays a more important role in getting the proper nutrition and care for the body. So the vegan diet is a very good choice. It gives a good balance.

Chief Pediatrician of Taipei Hospital (f): I am a pediatrician. More and more reports are pointing out the positive effect of the vegan diet on children’s development. One of the latest reports mentioned that eating more dark green vegetables and dark yellow vegetables can help children reduce body fat and increase bone density. So for children, a vegan diet is the healthiest. 

ANCHOR: The future physicians listened to talks on issues concerning cancer, chronic diseases, and menopause. Nutritional advice was presented as well as information on veganism being the quickest way to reduce global warming.
