Supreme Master Ching Hai continues to illuminate the solution to climate change.

On Saturday, July 26, 2008, distinguished speakers will gather for the Climate Change International Conference in Los Angeles, California, USA.

With Emmy award-winning television news journalist Jane Velez-Mitchell as moderator, the event is being organized by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association.

On the following day, our Association's branch in Japan will also be hosting the SOS: Stop Global Warming Seminar in the capital city of Tokyo.

The guests of both meetings are prominent leaders of diverse fields, united in seeking a sustainable and peaceful future.

Invited as the special honored guest to both meetings is Supreme Master Ching Hai, who will be joining the discussions via live videoconference.

Thanh Hải Vô Thượng Sư: We have to tackle the root of problem. The root of the problem is the cause of global warming, and that root is our unkindness to our co-inhabitants.

And we have also been unkind to our environment.

So in order to solve the problem that we are facing right now, we have to reverse our actions.
We have to be kind to our co-inhabitants.

Thanh Hải Vô Thượng Sư: How easy to stop global warming if we just change to an animal-free diet;
change to vegetarian lifestyle; then we would have the chance to keep this home that we so love, also for our future children.

VOICE: Over the past several months, Supreme Master Ching Hai has been invited by different countries to speak on climate change.

Leaders of government and media, religion and education have sought her advice, the wisdom of one deeply concerned and most aware of humanity's situation.

Supreme Master Ching Hai has also graciously accepted invitations from our Association members around the world, from Europe to Asia to the Americas, to respond to their questions about global warming.

 

Thanh Hải Vô Thượng Sư: If the world were to go 100% vegetarian right now, the good effect of it would be seen within more or less 60 days.

Thanh Hải Vô Thượng Sư: The more vegetarian people, the less killing of the animals, the more time we have to rescue the planet and the lives on the planet.

 

Thanh Hải Vô Thượng Sư: You have to envision a positive world, a  the Heaven on Earth as that you would like it to be.
