(For all ingredients, please use organic versions if available)
Samp (stamped dried corn kernels)
Brown sugar beans
Vegan sausage (Fry’s brand recommended)
Potatoes
Chakalaka (spicy African vegetable relish)
Salt
Pepper
Oil
Water
Directions (to make setswana samp and brown sugar beans ):
- Cook the samp and beans since it takes awhile, about 1–2 hours
- Add the potatoes
- Add a bit of soy sauce
- Add a bit of pepper
- Add salt
- Close the pot a few more minutes
Directions (to fry the vegan sausage):
- Add a bit of sunflower oil
- Add the vegan sausage
- Cook about 8–10 minutes
- Switch the stove of
- Take the fried vegan sausage to the plate
- Warm up the gravy
- Reduce the heat
- Add a bit of water
Directions (to serving):
- After the samp is ready take the samp to the plate
- Put the gravy to the plate
- Ready to serve
